About Me

I’m Alima, a qualified and experienced teacher of over 10 years and 11+ English specialist, and the founder of Bright Minds Club.

With over a decade of experience teaching in both state and independent preparatory schools across London, I have supported children from Year 1 through to Year 6, specialising in KS2 and entrance exam preparation.
Alongside my classroom experience, I have a background in psychology, I served as Head of PSHE in a preparatory school for several years, and I am also a qualified mindfulness teacher.

This combination has shaped a deeply holistic approach to education that supports both academic progress and emotional well-being.

My mission has always been to make learning enjoyable, structured, and emotionally supportive. I believe children thrive when they feel confident, understood, and gently challenged in a nurturing environment. Over the years, I have seen first-hand how transformative it is when strong academic teaching is paired with confidence-building and care.
After leaving the classroom, I continued to tutor children preparing for the 7+ and 11+ exams and quickly saw a consistent pattern: many children were struggling with the vocabulary and English skills required for success, while parents often felt overwhelmed trying to support them at home.

Bright Minds Club was created in response to this - an English tuition service designed to make the 11+ journey clearer, calmer, and more achievable for families.

Today, I support children preparing for the 11+ in three main ways:

1. Weekly live online classes in English and vocabulary during term time and school holidays

2. A self-paced membership with recorded lessons and resources for flexible home learning

3. Holiday workshops focused on specific 11+ skills

Through Bright Minds Club, my goal is simple: to help as many children as possible reach their academic potential while making the 11+ process less stressful and more structured for families.
